Clinton Man Arrested for Liquor Store Burglary After Security Footage Links Him to Crime

The Penny News 296

On December 7, Ira Lamborn, 22, of Clinton, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into a local liquor store.

According to a probable cause affidavit by the Clinton Police Department, the incident occurred in the early hours of December 3. Around 2 a.m., police responded to an alarm at 7 Days Liquor, located at 1221 West Gary Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered the store’s front glass door shattered, with a large cement block inside near the entrance and the alarm blaring.

After searching the building and finding no one inside, officers contacted the store owner at approximately 2:10 a.m. The owner reported that several items had been stolen, including a 1.75-liter bottle of Patrón valued at $140, two 750-milliliter bottles of Código 1530 priced at $68 each, and two 750-milliliter bottles of Herradura, each worth $55. The total loss amounted to $386.

Security footage from the store showed a suspect described as a white male wearing a red flannel coat, black hoodie, khaki pants, and black shoes. The suspect, identified as Lamborn from prior interactions, was seen on video using a cement block to smash the glass door, entering the store, and stealing the items.

The store owner estimated the cost of repairing the damaged door at $425.

A warrant for Lamborn’s arrest was issued, and he was taken into custody on December 7.
