Beckham County, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) has introduced a new online reporting system designed to make it easier for residents to report suspected wildlife law violations.
The updated Operation Game Thief program allows citizens to submit reports through a step-by-step online platform at www.huntregsapp.com/report. Reports are automatically directed to the appropriate Oklahoma game wardens based on the location of the suspected violation.
The new system, developed through a partnership with HuntRegsApp.com, replaces the traditional toll-free reporting system while continuing to allow individuals to remain anonymous.
Operation Game Thief was established in Oklahoma in 1979 as part of a nationwide effort to combat wildlife crimes. The program originated in New Mexico in 1977 and was modeled after Crime Stoppers, encouraging public participation through confidential reporting and potential cash rewards.
Wildlife officials say the updated system will help game wardens respond more efficiently to reports of illegal hunting, poaching and other suspected wildlife violations.
Game wardens encourage residents to report suspicious activity promptly to help protect Oklahoma's wildlife resources.
Suspected violations can be reported at www.huntregsapp.com/report. Additional information about wildlife conservation programs is available at www.wildlifedepartment.com.
