Weatherford, OK – Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) will welcome area students to campus for the SWOSU STEAM Dawg HOUSE Academy Summer Camp on Thursday, July 16, at the SWOSU Wellness Center in Weatherford. The one-day camp is designed for students who completed fifth or sixth grade in spring 2026 and will enter sixth or seventh grade in fall 2026.
Students will spend the day working through science, technology, engineering, art and math activities with support from SWOSU faculty, students and collaborators. Camp sessions will include Sports Lab and STEAM City Design, which give students a chance to think creatively, solve problems, and learn alongside other students.
The camp is part of SWOSU Dawg HOUSE Academy, a program that provides STEM learning opportunities for P-12 students and educators in rural western Oklahoma. The program helps students build knowledge, interest and confidence in STEM fields, with activities connected to engineering, aerospace and health-related fields.
Check-in will be held from 8 to 8:30 a.m., and camp activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided. Parent pickup will take place from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Registration is due by Wednesday, July 8, and space is limited to 30 students. The cost is $25 per student, and financial assistance is available.
