Erick, OK — A 46-year-old Erick woman has been charged in Beckham County District Court following an alleged armed home invasion and attempted robbery at an apartment in Erick.

According to court records, Nikkii Lynn O'Dell faces three felony charges, including attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree burglary.

The charges stem from an incident reported shortly after 2 a.m. on May 23 at an apartment located in the 400 block of S. Birch Avenue in Erick. According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Beckham County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded after receiving a report that a woman had entered a resident's apartment demanding money.

The victim told investigators she answered a knock at her door believing it was her daughter. Court records state that when she opened the door, a woman forced her way inside, demanded money, and displayed a knife.

According to the affidavit, the victim told deputies the suspect repeatedly demanded money and struck her several times in the face after she responded that she did not have any money. The victim also reported suffering cuts and scratches to her arms during the confrontation.

Investigators documented visible injuries, including bleeding scratches and bruising.

Over the following days, deputies conducted additional interviews with the victim, who provided a more detailed description of the suspect, including tattoos on her wrist and ankle and details about the knife allegedly used during the incident.

On May 27, investigators presented the victim with a six-person photo lineup. According to the affidavit, she identified O'Dell as the person who attacked her.

Investigators later spoke with a witness who told deputies O'Dell had asked him for money around the time of the incident and mentioned trying to get money from someone at the apartment complex, according to court records.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at a camper where investigators said O'Dell had been staying. Deputies reported finding a knife and clothing matching the description provided by the victim. Court records state investigators observed apparent blood-like smear marks on one of the shirts and noted markings they believed were consistent with contact from the recovered knife.

O'Dell was later interviewed by investigators after being advised of her Miranda rights. During the investigation, deputies photographed tattoos that were shown to the victim, who told investigators they matched those of her attacker, according to the affidavit.

District Attorney Angela Marsee formally filed charges on June 1. If convicted, O'Dell could face penalties ranging from several years to life imprisonment depending on the charge.

According to court records, Beckham County Associate District Judge Michelle Kirby Roper found probable cause for O'Dell's arrest and set bond at $100,000 with a condition that she have no contact with the alleged victim.
