OSIDA Board Approves Clinton-Sherman Airport Funding Items

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority Board met Wednesday, January 21, 2026, and approved two funding items related to ongoing pavement work at Clinton-Sherman Airport in Burns Flat.

The Board approved a change order to a state contract for Phase 1 of the airport’s pavement rehabilitation project. According to Senior Project and Grants Manager Michelle Bouziden, the change order was required due to extended contract time caused by additional spall repairs and concrete panel replacements identified during construction. Those additional repairs also required extended services from the project consultant.

The approved change order totals $60,225 and will be funded entirely through OSIDA’s PREP funds. Bouziden noted it was a light month for change orders and recommended approval. The Board voted to approve the item.

The Board also approved a consultant contract to conduct a pavement investigation on the airport’s main apron. The study will help determine long-term rehabilitation options as OSIDA continues infrastructure planning and expansion at the facility.

Airports Division Manager Nick Young said the apron, which stretches roughly a mile long and more than 700 feet wide, has experienced significant deterioration due to underlying drainage issues. He cited blowouts and surface pop-ups, particularly across the central portion of the apron, as key concerns.

The pavement investigation will help identify the most cost-effective and durable rehabilitation approach, especially as OSIDA continues to develop the east side of the airport for additional commercial users and future tenants. The total cost of the consultant contract is $50,370 and will be funded with OSIDA revolving funds.

Both agenda items were approved by the Board.
