Clinton, OK — A California man is facing a felony drug trafficking charge after troopers reported finding more than 55 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Custer County.

According to court records, 41-year-old Yuanfeng Chen of Monterey Park, California, was arrested on Friday, August 15, after troopers stopped a silver Toyota bearing Oklahoma tags on U.S. Highway 183 near Interstate 40 in Clinton.

The driver reportedly slammed on the brakes at a stop sign and later crossed the center line, prompting a traffic stop. Troopers said they smelled raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the car revealed four large trash bags in the trunk containing vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana, weighing about 55 pounds.

Chen was arrested at the scene and booked into the Custer County Jail on a charge of Aggravated Trafficking in Illegal Drugs (Marijuana). Under Oklahoma law, the offense carries a possible prison sentence of up to 20 years and a fine ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.

Bond was set at $100,000, and Chen is scheduled to appear in Custer County District Court on September 8.
