Free Dumping Weekend at Shamrock City Landfill – May 2 & 3

Shamrock, TX – The City of Shamrock will offer free dumping at the City Landfill during the first weekend in May. Residents may bring household items and debris for disposal at no charge on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3.

Landfill hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a lunch closure from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Due to recent winter weather and high winds, residents are encouraged to remove damaged or broken trees, limbs, and shrubs. This is also a great opportunity to clean up your property and dispose of unwanted items.

Please note:

  • This event is only for City of Shamrock residents.

  • Construction materials are not included in this free service.

  • A disposal fee will be charged for any construction materials or contractor-delivered items. Contractors are responsible for their own disposal costs.

Prohibited Items – Not Accepted at the Landfill:

  • Refrigerators, freezers, or AC units unless tagged by a licensed professional confirming Freon removal

  • Chemicals of any type

  • Tires of any type

  • Batteries of any type

  • Asbestos waste

  • Radioactive waste

  • Liquid waste

  • Regulated medical waste

  • PCB waste – including electrical equipment, transformers, capacitors, etc.
