Measles Exposure Alert Issued for Weatherford Restaurant

The Penny News 541

Weatherford, OK — Health officials have issued a measles exposure alert for patrons of a restaurant located in the 1300 block of E. Main St. in Weatherford. Individuals who visited the restaurant on March 19 between 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. may have been exposed to the virus.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) advises that those who were present during this timeframe and are unvaccinated, unsure of their vaccination status, or have concerns should complete the contact form available on the OSDH website. A health department representative will provide further guidance.

As of April 1, Oklahoma has reported a total of 10 measles cases—eight confirmed and two probable. All affected individuals were unvaccinated.

Measles is a highly contagious virus that can linger in the air for up to two hours after an infected person has left the area. Health officials emphasize the importance of vaccination as the most effective means of prevention. Individuals uncertain about their immunization status are encouraged to consult with their healthcare provider.
