Weatherford, OK – Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) has announced the receipt of a major charitable gift from Bryan and Erika Evans of Edmond.

Bryan Evans is the Co-Founder of the Evans & Davis Law Firm, which is a national estate and business planning firm practicing in 40 states with offices in 19.

Bryan and Erika both grew up in Weatherford and graduated from SWOSU in 1998. They are the parents of twin daughters, Elle and Emma Evans, and one son, JD Evans, all of whom are currently undergraduate students at the University of Oklahoma.

The SWOSU Student Government Association (SGA) will be the beneficiary of the Evans Family’s generous contribution. Comprised of the SWOSU Student Body President, Vice President, and Treasurer, the Student Senate, the Student Supreme Court, and all full-time SWOSU students, the SGA serves as the recognized elected body of SWOSU students, advocating for their interests and viewpoints.

Bryan and Erika both served in the SGA during their time at SWOSU, with Bryan serving as Student Body President during the 1997-1998 academic year.

This amazing endowment gift from the Bryan and Erika Evans Family represents the largest single gift ever made to the SWOSU Student Government Association. We are deeply grateful to these longtime benefactors and partners who continue to invest in the mission of their alma mater,” said SWOSU President Dr. Diana Lovell. “The Evans Family Endowment will provide invaluable ongoing financial support to the activities and functions of student government here on the Hilltop.”

The Evanses are Founder-Level donors to the SWOSU Bulldog Angels Fund for students in crisis and Lifetime Members of the SWOSU Alumni Association. Bryan is a Past Chair of the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees and in 2024 was inducted into the SWOSU Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Bryan & Erika Evans Family Endowment is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. An independent institutionally-related charitable entity headquartered on the SWOSU Campus in the historic Burton House, the Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
