Sales Tax Revenue Sees Modest Growth Across Oklahoma Cities

Oklahoma cities have reported their December 2024 sales tax revenue figures, with mixed results compared to December 2023. While some cities saw a slight increase, others experienced a decline. The statewide total showed a modest increase of 0.29%.

Elk City reported a slight decline, bringing in $1,253,223.46 in December 2024 compared to $1,284,308.76 the previous year, a -2.42% decrease. Clinton showed a marginal gain, collecting $499,519.99, up from $493,988.62. Weatherford had an increase of 3.87%, with revenue reaching $1,072,110.42.

By comparision, Altus saw a decrease, with revenue dropping to $1,045,467.93 from $1,128,993.72 in December 2023, marking a -7.40% decline. Woodward experienced a small increase of 1.79%, reaching $1,155,843.26. Sayre and Mangum both saw declines of -1.63% and -15.04%, respectively.

Cordell saw growth with a 10.80% increase, bringing in $94,438.73 compared to $85,231.94 the previous year. However, Sayre was down 1.6% by bringing in $134,369.80, and Mangum saw a 15% decrease by bringing in $48,178.33.

Overall, Oklahoma’s city and county sales tax revenue reached $237,605,329.30 in December 2024, compared to $236,917,624.23 in December 2023. The modest 0.29% increase suggests a stable but slow-growing retail economy across the state.
