Elk City Police Investigating Suspected Arson on W. 6th Street

In the early hours of last Saturday, December 1, Elk City firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 400 block of W. 6th Street. The blaze, reported around 2 a.m., engulfed a vacant residence and required swift action from C-shift crews. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire was brought under control shortly after arrival.

Authorities have since classified the incident as arson. The Elk City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation, focusing on a suspected arson at 422 W. 6th St. Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance in solving the case.

We are asking anyone with knowledge or information related to this incident to come forward,” said Captain Sammy Weygand. “Your tip could make a significant difference.”

Police are specifically requesting security camera or dashcam footage from the area recorded between 12:01 a.m. and 3 a.m. on November 30, 2024.
