Candidates have officially filed for school board positions across Beckham, Custer, Washita, and Roger Mills counties, kicking off preparations for elections in multiple districts. The filing period, held December 2-4, 2024, at respective county election boards, brought forth a range of candidates vying for nonpartisan roles.

Beckham County

Elk City Public Schools:

Rodney Cloud, 50, Elk City, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Erick Public Schools:

William Laster, 43, Erick, OK, seeks Office No. 5.

Merritt Public Schools:

Lindsay Robinson, 41, Elk City, OK, and Marte Mullens, 42, Elk City, OK, will compete for Office No. 5.

Sayre Public Schools:

James Edwards Jr., 48, Sayre, OK, filed for Office No. 4 (Unexpired).

Christopher Keahey, 37, Sayre, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Custer County

Arapaho-Butler Public Schools:

Adam S. Richardson, 36, Clinton, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Clinton Public Schools:

John C. Coleman, 49, Clinton, OK, seeks Office No. 5.

Thomas-Fay-Custer Unified District:

Kasey Marie Whitson, 39, Thomas, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Weatherford Public Schools:

Carrie Schmidt, 44, Weatherford, OK, seeks Office No. 5.

Washita County

Burns Flat-Dill City Schools:

Jill Birdwell, 51, Dill City, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Canute Public Schools:

Chris Kirk, 45, Elk City, OK, and Dustin DeGarmo, 41, Elk City, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Cordell Public Schools:

Dale Selman, 50, Randi Hunter, 40, and Nocona Cook, 39, all from Cordell, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Sentinel Public Schools:

Bryan Nichols, 38, Canute, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Western Tech Center:

Rudy J Mayfield, 73, Sayre, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Roger Mills County

Cheyenne Public Schools:

Josh Whitson, 38, and Kimberly Sander, 59, both of Cheyenne, OK, are running for Office No. 5.

Hammon Public Schools:

Blake DeWayne Johnson, 43, Hammon, OK, seeks Office No. 3 (Unexpired).

Michael Trench, 51, and Rachel Candy, 58, both of Hammon, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Leedey Public Schools:

Landon Holcomb, 43, Leedey, OK, filed for Office No. 3 (Unexpired).

Brady L. Smith, 40, Leedey, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Reydon Public Schools:

Tracey York, 38, Durham, OK, seeks Office No. 3 (Unexpired).

Kade Schmidt, 35, Reydon, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Sweetwater Public Schools:

Jessie Harrell, 43, and Jeremy Henson, 40, both of Sweetwater, OK, filed for Office No. 5.

Election Schedule

Primary Election: February 11, 2025 (Second Tuesday in February)

A primary election will be held only if more than two candidates file for a seat. If a candidate secures over 50% of the vote, they win outright, and the general election for that seat is canceled.

General Election: April 1, 2025 (First Tuesday in April)
