Passenger Killed in Dewey County Rollover Crash

Oakwood, OK – A Texas man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Dewey County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:38 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, on U.S. Highway 270 near East 730 Road, about 2.3 miles northwest of Oakwood.

OHP reported that a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Marco Herrera Lopez of Las Vegas, Nevada, was traveling southeast on U.S. 270 when it left the roadway to the left and overturned.

A passenger, 22-year-old Brayan Romael Cajas Sales of Plano, Texas, died as a result of the crash. OHP reported that another passenger was injured.

Herrera Lopez was not injured.

According to the collision report, seat belts were not in use by all occupants of the vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
