Elk City, OK – The 29th annual KECO Open continued its tradition of giving back to Western Oklahoma, raising $9,000 for the Red Knights Motorcycle Club and the Dream League of Elk City.

The funds were formally presented to the Red Knights and accepted on Friday, Aug. 14. The Red Knights will direct the money to the Dream League, where it will help with field maintenance, equipment, parties, trips, construction projects and other needs benefiting Dream League athletes.

The 29th KECO Open was held June 26 and 27 at the Elk City Golf and Country Club. Money for the organizations was raised through several activities surrounding the tournament, including the Calcutta, food vendor donations, Putting Clock Challenge and other special events.

The Dream League provides baseball opportunities for individuals with special needs ages 3 and older. Games are played at the Dream League Field at Ackley Park in Elk City, giving athletes the opportunity to play baseball, build friendships and enjoy the experience of being part of a team.

The Red Knights Motorcycle Club is made up of active and retired firefighters and their families. The organization has been a longtime supporter of the Dream League and other community projects across Western Oklahoma.

The KECO Open’s partnership with the Red Knights has generated significant support over the years. Prior to this year’s contribution, the tournament had donated more than $70,000 to the Red Knights, with those funds helping the Dream League and other community projects throughout the region.

This year’s $9,000 contribution continues the KECO Open’s mission of making the annual golf tournament about more than competition, using the event to support organizations serving families and communities throughout Western Oklahoma.
