Blaine County, OK – A 69-year-old Arizona man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Highway 33 and U.S. Highway 270 in Blaine County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. August 11, about 14 miles west of Watonga.
OHP reported the 69-year-old Safford, Arizona man was stopped at a stop sign on SH-33 before entering the eastbound lane of US-270. His vehicle was struck by an eastbound commercial motor vehicle driven by 37-year-old Brandon L. Beamon of Garden City, Kansas.
Following the initial collision, the Arizona man's vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Angelica Petty of Fay. Petty's vehicle then struck another vehicle driven by 45-year-old Andrea Renee Perkins of Fairview. Petty and Perkins had been westbound in the US-270 turn lane waiting to turn south onto SH-33.
OHP said Beamon's commercial vehicle then departed the roadway to the left and struck two parked construction vehicles.
The Arizona man was injured and died as a result of the collision. His name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin at the time of the OHP report.
Petty was also reported injured. Beamon and Perkins were not injured. No passengers were involved in the crash.
OHP reported all four drivers were wearing seat belts.
