Childress, TX — A Clinton, Oklahoma man was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County, Texas.
According to court records, Billy Joe Martinez, 42, of Clinton, was placed on eight years of probation for the first-degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
The case was among 22 pleas heard during court proceedings on June 11 before Judge Dale Rabe Jr. Prosecuting the cases on behalf of the State of Texas were 100th Judicial District Attorney Luke Inman and Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle.
Martinez was arrested by Childress Police Officer Thomas on Sept. 30, 2025. He later pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on Nov. 6, 2025.
As part of his sentence, Martinez was ordered to pay an $8,000 fine, $340 in court costs, a $180 laboratory fee, and a $500 out-of-state probation transfer fee. He was also ordered to complete 400 hours of community service.
Court officials noted that if Martinez violates the terms of his probation and it is revoked, he could face a sentence of up to 99 years or life in prison.
