Western Tech Accepting Applications for Dental Assisting, New Paramedic Programs

Burns Flat, OK — Western Technology Center is currently accepting applications for its Dental Assisting and newly restructured Paramedic programs, offering area residents opportunities to pursue careers in two high-demand healthcare fields.

According to Western Technology Center Marketing Director Lacey Lewallen, the Dental Assisting program remains open for applications through June 26. The full-time program is offered exclusively for adult students at the Weatherford campus.

"Our dental assisting program is a full-time adult-only program at our Weatherford campus, and they are currently accepting applications," Lewallen said. "The deadline is June 26, so if that's something you're interested in, you have some time to research and really dig into that."

Prospective students can find program details and application information at WestTech.edu under the Full-Time Programs section. Completed applications can be submitted at Western Tech's Burns Flat campus.

Western Tech is also launching a new version of its Paramedic program. While the school has offered paramedic training in the past, the updated program will be delivered as a short-term, 12-month course.

"We did previously have a paramedic program. It is newer this year," Lewallen said. "This is a short-term paramedic program, and the applications are due on July 29 with an August start date."

The 12-month program is designed to prepare students for careers in emergency medical services and advanced patient care. Information and applications are available on the school's website under the Short-Term Programs section.

"We're really excited about that offering," Lewallen said. "It's going to be a new 12-month program. So a new look, but same great training."
