Western Oklahoma voters will head to the polls Tuesday, June 16, for Oklahoma's Primary Election, with county commissioner races across the region joining a high-profile gubernatorial primary and other statewide contests.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. statewide. In addition to local races, Oklahoma voters will cast ballots in primary elections for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, State Treasurer, congressional offices, legislative seats, and State Question 832, which would gradually increase Oklahoma's minimum wage.
The race for Governor is expected to draw significant attention as Republicans and Democrats select their nominees for the state's highest office. Depending on the results, some races could advance to a Primary Runoff Election on August 25 before the General Election on November 3.

Mangum voters will also elect a commissioner to fill the unexpired term for Board of Trustees Commissioner No. 3. Candidates include Rodd Duff, Travis Mayabb, and Renee Clark.

Washita County
Two county commissioner races are on the Republican ballot.
In District 1, Bart Gossen, Matthew Misak, and Chris Shields are seeking the nomination.

Looking Ahead
Candidates who receive the necessary votes in Tuesday's primary will advance toward the General Election on November 3. In races where no candidate secures the required majority, voters will return to the polls for a Primary Runoff Election on August 25.
Election officials encourage voters to verify their polling location and bring an approved form of identification. Unofficial results will begin to be released after polls close Tuesday evening.
For many western Oklahoma communities, Tuesday's election will help shape county leadership for years to come while also setting the stage for Oklahoma's next governor and other statewide elected officials.
