Beckham County, OK – A former nurse anesthetist at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City is facing felony charges after multiple female employees accused him of sexual misconduct while working at the hospital.

Michael Todd Ralls, 57, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, has been charged with three felony counts of sexual battery following an investigation by the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, the investigation began after an 18-year-old high school intern reported receiving inappropriate messages from Ralls on Feb. 25, 2026. Investigators said the student reported the communications to her school, hospital staff, and human resources officials.

Authorities allege the messages included inappropriate conversations. Court records state that after the intern rejected communication attempts, Ralls allegedly repeatedly tried calling her, prompting the student to block his number.

The complaint led investigators and hospital administrators to interview additional employees. Three female hospital workers later described separate incidents of alleged misconduct involving Ralls, who reportedly held a position of authority over each employee.

One alleged victim told investigators that between Nov. 1, 2025 and Jan. 31, 2026, Ralls inappropriately touched her dozens of times while assisting with surgical gown ties. The employee also alleged that Ralls whispered inappropriate comments in her ear and made repeated unwanted gestures and physical contact.

Additional allegations outlined in court documents include unwanted sexual touching, inappropriate comments, blocking employees from leaving situations, stalking behavior, and abuse of authority in the workplace.

Investigators said several victims expressed fear about reporting the behavior because of Ralls’ position at the hospital. Witness statements and text messages between employees reportedly corroborated discussions about the alleged incidents and described what investigators called a pattern of inappropriate behavior toward female employees.

Hospital officials conducted an internal investigation during the case. According to investigators, Ralls was terminated from his position following that investigation.

Court filings also show an outstanding warrant for Ralls’ arrest was issued on May 4, 2026, the same day the charges were formally filed.

If convicted on all charges, prosecutors said Ralls could face up to 30 years in prison.
