Candidate Filing Begins Aprils 1st

Sayre, OK – Statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 1st, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Beckham County Election Board said today.

Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.

Beckham County Election Board Secretary Sherron Manning said the following offices are expected to be filled this year:

  • U.S. Senator (1 office)

  • U.S. Representative (5 offices)

  • Governor

  • Lieutenant Governor

  • Attorney General

  • State Treasurer

  • Superintendent of Public Instruction

  • State Auditor and Inspector

  • Commissioner of Labor

  • Insurance Commissioner

  • Corporation Commissioner (1 office)

  • District Attorney (one elected from each of 27 districts)

  • State Senator(24 Offices) (even-numbered districts)

  • State Representative (101 offices)

  • State Senator, District 17 (Special Election-unexpired term)

  • State Representative, District 92 (Special Election-unexpired term)

  • District Judges and Associate District Judges

  • County Treasurer

  • County Assessor

  • County Commissioner (Districts 1 and 3)

Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Beckham County Election Board at 580-928-3314 or beckhamcounty@elections.ok.gov. The Beckham County Election Board is located at 306 E. Main St., Sayre, OK and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board's website at oklahoma.gov/elections.

The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 3rd.
