Weatherford, OK — A Weatherford man has been charged after police said they found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop and later discovered suspected meth hidden in his sock at the Weatherford Municipal Jail.

Ronald Allen Fraga Jr., 55, faces one felony count of bringing contraband into a jail or penal institution and three misdemeanor counts: possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents filed in Custer County District Court.

According to an affidavit, officers stopped a white 2000 Honda Civic about 1:21 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 500 block of West Davis after observing what was described as an improper turn and the vehicle stopping in the roadway and blocking a crosswalk near Davis and Seventh Street. The defendant was the passenger in the vehicle.

An officer reported smelling marijuana and questioning the occupants. Fraga allegedly said he had smoked about an hour earlier and kept small smoked marijuana cigarettes in a cigarette pack.

An officer reported that Fraga admitted he had a meth pipe in his pocket. A search allegedly uncovered a burnt glass pipe containing a white, crystal like substance. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located a new glass pipe in a brown paper bag in the front passenger area and a vape pen containing a yellowish liquid on the back passenger floorboard. The driver reportedly told officers the vape pen was his and was not nicotine.

According to the affidavit, after both men were arrested, Fraga asked to speak with an officer and said, “I got some dope man,” then handed over a plastic bag containing a white, crystal like substance. Some of the substance allegedly spilled onto his lap and was collected as evidence.

Later that night, a white, crystal like substance was found in Fraga’s right sock while he was being dressed out at the jail, according to the affidavit. An officer later used a Nark II reagent test kit on the substance and reported it tested positive for methamphetamine.

Court records show a judge signed an order finding probable cause Feb. 8 and set bond at $1,500.

A supplemental filing alleges Fraga has prior felony convictions in Custer County District Court case CF-2015-299, including possession of a firearm after former felony conviction and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The filing states a suspended sentence was later revoked in 2020.
