Beckham County, OK – Beckham County Rural Water District No. 1 has issued mandatory water restrictions for all customers due to ongoing drought conditions and a declining water table in the district’s well field.
Under the restrictions, customers are prohibited from using district water for agricultural spraying. Agricultural spraying may continue if water is obtained from another source, such as a private well.
The district is also prohibiting outside watering, including watering lawns and gardens and filling swimming pools.
Officials said the restrictions are necessary because drought conditions have caused the water table in the district’s well field to drop.
The restrictions are mandatory and apply to all Beckham County Rural Water District No. 1 customers until further notice.
