STATE TOURNAMENT MVPS & ALL TOURNAMENT TEAMS ANNOUNCED 

The Oklahoman announced their MVPs and All Tournament teams for the small school state tournaments. The 2A boys MVP was Dale’s Dayton Forsythe. He’s joined on the all tournament team by his teammate Trayden Chambers, Colt Kinsey from Fairland, and two Pocola Indians Dakota Terrell and Heusten Stroups. Ok Bible Academy’s Conley Cayot was the MVP. Her teammate Lilyan Walden, Alyssa Parker from Pocola, and Hartshorne’s Ti Davis and Tory Killburn were on the all tournament team. Okarche’s Jett Meuggenborg was the Class A boys MVP. His teammate Easton Roby, Canyon James from Rattan, Chase Clark and Diezel Davis from Okay joined him on the team. The Class A Girls MVP was Hayden Gibson from Cyril. The other 4 on the all tournament team was her teammate Khloe Goombi, Katie Parham from Okarche, Kayden Prince and Jaycie Nichols from Caddo. Brendan voss from Calumet was the class b boys mvp. His teammate Kaleb Thiessen, Jaxton Weedn from Stuart, and brother Zion and Keshon Shelburne from Wilson (Henryetta) were on the team. Last but certainly not least in the Class B Girls. Hammon’s Henley West is the MVP after averaging a scoush over 32 a game, the most of anyone last weekend. She’s joined on the all tournament team by Harley Shoaf and Allie Tune from Arnett, as well as Ella Roberts from Kiowa and Jaci Cassell from Chattanooga. 

SPRING SPORTS 

As high school hoops rounds out, spring sports are cranking up across western oklahoma. In slow pitch softball yesterday, AB whipped Hinton 10-1, B-O blanked Fletcher 8-0, Sayre beat up on BFDC 8-1, Canute bombed Navajo 24-3, C-R blanked Sentinel 13-0, Hobart won twice against Eisenhower 14-0 and 16-11, H-E whitewashed Geary 21-0, Shattuck blanked Ringwood twice 14 and 18 zip 

The Elk City Elks improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in district play with a 9-4 win over McGuiness at Ackley Park yesterday. Bryce Mouse got the win on the hill going 5 innings while giving up only one run. Collin Church and Jaxon McArthur combined to go 7-8 with 4 triples , a double, and 5 RBI. The teams will meet for the second of two district tilts this afternoon at McGuiness. 

Elsewhere on the baseball diamond, AB won twice 6-1 against Sayre and 13-0 over Mooreland, Sayre beat up on Moorleand 14-6, Canute edged Navajo 3-1, Washington clipped FCB 6-4, Hinton smoked Carnegie 11-3, Vici got all over Laverne 9-1, Blair outslugged MVG 19-13, Shattuck doubled up Thomas 4-2, Wford hammered Woodward 14-3  

THUNDER WIN STREAK SNAPPED 

The Ok City Thunder had their 7 game win streak snapped last night by the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic had 35 points, 18 rebounds, and 8 assists in the Nuggets 140-127 win. OKC was outscored in the second half 73-54 a night after blowing away Denver. They get the night off before heading to Boston tomorrow against the defending champs. 

TIGER HAS ANOTHER SURGERY 

It’s going to be a Tigerless Masters this year in Augusta. This afternoon Tiger Woods announced he went successful surgery to repair a ruptured achilles. Woods has yet to play on Tour this season, and this announcement virtually guarantees we won’t have any chance to see him until 2026.
