The Weatherford Lady Eagles competed in the Class 4A State Volleyball Tournament Thursday at Claremore High School.

Weatherford faced top-ranked Mount St. Mary's in the state quarterfinals, where the Rockets ended the Lady Eagles' season with a three-set sweep, 25-10, 25-15 and 25-13.

Weatherford finished the season with a 25-6 record, reaching the state tournament for the second consecutive year.

MLB PLAYOFFS

Major League Baseball will crown a new champion this season, with the Milwaukee Brewers advancing to the World Series for the first time since 1982.

Milwaukee completed a four-game sweep of the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, rallying for a 6-4 victory.

Shohei Ohtani opened the scoring with a three-run home run, helping Los Angeles build an early 4-0 lead. Milwaukee answered with two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game before taking the lead in the sixth. The Brewers' bullpen held on to complete the sweep.

It marked the first time in MLB history that a team swept the same opponent that had swept it the previous postseason. It was also the Dodgers' first sweep in a best-of-seven postseason series since the 1966 World Series.

In the American League Championship Series, Cleveland defeated Tampa Bay 3-2 in Game 3. The Guardians took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Game 4 is scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEKEND

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State both face ranked opponents this weekend.

Coming off an upset victory over Texas last week, Oklahoma will host No. 15 Kentucky Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, No. 18 Oklahoma State travels to Houston for a matchup with the No. 20 Cougars. A victory would strengthen the Cowboys' position among the Big 12 contenders battling for a spot in the conference championship game in Arlington and a potential College Football Playoff berth.

Kickoff between Oklahoma State and Houston is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Several other ranked matchups highlight Saturday's national schedule.

At 11 a.m., No. 4 Ohio State visits No. 5 Indiana, while No. 16 Mississippi State travels to No. 22 LSU.

The 2:30 p.m. slate features No. 6 Alabama at No. 14 Tennessee and No. 13 Missouri at No. 9 Florida.

At 6:30 p.m., No. 2 Notre Dame travels to Provo to face No. 8 BYU.
