Oklahoma City, OK – Elk City native Sadiaa Jones was recently hired as the new Oklahoma City University Athletics Director.

The 1995 Elk City High School graduate has been Executive Athletic Director for Dallas College since 2021.

Before that, Jones served as Athletic Director at Seminole State College in Seminole and Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.

Jones earned a master’s degree in Education Administration and a bachelor of science degree in Health and Physical Education Recreation from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and an associate’s degree in arts from Seminole State College.

Before becoming an athletics administration professional, she was an assistant women’s basketball coach at California State University Fresno for six years.

She competed in college athletics at both Seminole State and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

As an ECHS senior, Jones was a member of the 1995 3A State Championship girls' basketball team in its first year to play 5-on-5.

The Elkettes defeated Bristow 54-29 before 7,000 fans at State Fair Arena in that year's title game and finished the season with a perfect 29-0 record.
