Registrations Open for SWOSU Music Camps 2025

Weatherford, OK – The Department of Music at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) invites middle- and high-school musicians to register for the 70th summer of SWOSU Music Camps hosted in Weatherford. The 2025 Music Camp offerings include the following:

  • June 8-11- All-State Choral Camp

  • June 11-13- Jazz Camp

  • June 15-18- Musical Theater Camp

  • June 15-18- String Camp

  • June 19-20- Instrumental Camps (Flute, Saxophone, Guitar, Trombone, Piano)

  • June 22-25- Middle School Band Camp

  • July 13-18- Band Camp

Newer additions to the summer music camp offerings include Jazz Camp, Musical Theater Camp, and Instrumental Camps for flute, saxophone, guitar, trombone, and piano. The Jazz Camp, available for high-school students completing grades 9–12, offers jazz electives, fundamentals classes, and performance opportunities taught by jazz directors from around the state and members of the SWOSU Jazz ensemble. The Musical Theater Camp is designed for students with a passion for singing, dancing, acting, and performing on stage, featuring activities such as vocal coaching, dance workshop, solo and group performance, and more. This new camp is available for any student completing grades 4–12. Students completing grades 8–12 attending the Solo Camp will work with SWOSU faculty on instrument-specific goals, refining fundamentals, learning new techniques, and performing in ensembles.

SWOSU Music Camps bring a special energy to campus each year. These programs provide students with the opportunity to learn from and work with talented conductors and teachers, participate in ensembles, and hone musical skills while making lasting friendships and memories. Approximately 1,000 students and faculty travel from around the region to attend camps each year.

Undergraduate degrees offered at SWOSU include the following: Bachelor of Music Education (Instrumental/General), Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal/General), Bachelor of Music (Performance or Music Business), and Bachelor of Music (Music Therapy). The Graduate Division of the department offers the Master of Music in Performance, the Master of Music in Music Therapy, and the Master of Music in Music Education.
