Rep. Frank Lucas Seeks Applicants for U.S. Service Academy Nominations

The Penny News 671

Washington DC - In a press release, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) is encouraging high school seniors in his district to apply for a nomination to one of the nation’s prestigious U.S. Service Academies. Each year, Lucas has the honor of nominating a select group of students to four of the five academies:

  • U.S. Military Academy (West Point, NY)

  • U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD)

  • U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO)

  • U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY)

These institutions offer top-tier education, rigorous physical training, and leadership development, all at no financial cost,” said Rep. Lucas. “Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree and are commissioned as Second Lieutenants, with a required minimum of five years of military service.”

Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens between 17 and 22 years old, unmarried with no dependents, and meet academic, physical, and character standards. A congressional nomination is required for acceptance to most academies—something Rep. Lucas’s office facilitates.

Students interested in this opportunity can find eligibility details and application instructions on Rep. Lucas’s official website. For ongoing updates from the Congressman’s office, residents can also subscribe to his monthly e-newsletter.
