Voter Registration Deadline Approaching for April 1 Elections

The Penny News 470

Oklahoma residents who wish to vote in the upcoming April 1, 2025, Board of Education and municipal elections must register by Friday, March 7, 2025. This is the final day to submit a voter registration application to be eligible for these elections, which include in Custer and Roger Mills counties the City of Thomas Municipal General, Town of Hammon Municipal General, School Board General Elections for Hammon and Canute School Districts, and the Caddo-Kiowa Tech Center elections.

Who Can Register?

U.S. citizens who are residents of Oklahoma and at least 17 ½ years old may apply for voter registration. However, individuals must be at least 18 years old by Election Day to cast a ballot.

How to Register

Residents can complete a Voter Registration Application and ensure it is postmarked by midnight on March 7. Applications received after this deadline will still be processed, but they will not be valid for voting in the April 1 election. Registration forms are available at:

  • County Election Board offices

  • Post offices, tag agencies, and public libraries

  • Online at www.elections.ok.gov

Applications can also be submitted at motor vehicle agencies that serve as official voter registration sites.

Voter Confirmation & Updates

Once an application is processed, voters will receive a Voter Identification Card in the mail. If an application is denied, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the reason. Those who do not receive a response within 30 days should contact their County Election Board.

Voters who have moved to a new county from another county or state must submit a new voter registration application to be eligible to vote locally. If moving within the county, address updates can be made through the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or by completing a voter registration form.

Election Board Contact Information

For further assistance, residents can contact their County Election Board offices:
