SWOSU Press Release

Weatherford, OK – Dr. Todd Wiggen, Associate Professor in the Everett Dobson College of Business and Technology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford, has been named the new Editor-in-Chief of Management Teaching Review (MTR), a publication of the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS).

MTR serves the management education community by publishing concise, targeted resources for improving teaching and learning practices. This international journal is a collaborative space for active learning resources that foster deep student engagement and instructor excellence. Wiggen will begin a six-month transition period this month before starting his three-year term as Editor-in-Chief in June 2025.

MOBTS is a professional organization for educators in management and organizational behavior. The society was founded in 1974 and incorporated in 1981 as the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (OBTS), updating its name to MOBTS in July 2017. The mission of MOBTS is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and materials among its members, as well as to promote the improvement of teaching and research in the field of management and organizational behavior. The society holds an annual conference in the United States, where members can present their research, participate in panel discussions, and network with other professionals in the field. Similar scope conferences are held annually in Australia/New Zealand (MOBTS Oceania) and globally (International MOBTS). The society publishes MTR and the Journal of Management Education (JME).

Wiggen is a tenured faculty member in the Business Department at SWOSU and has served MOBTS as a conference reviewer, reviewer for MTR, and member of the Collegiate Leadership Competition guiding committee. At SWOSU, he coordinates the Reach Higher FlexFinish program and served as the program’s four-year council chair for the State of Oklahoma from 2019 to 2023.

Reach Higher is designed for working adults who have completed an associate degree or earned at least 60 hours of previous college credit and want to finish their bachelor’s degree. SWOSU’s program offers online coursework in 8- and 16-week formats, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with focus areas in business, psychology, or technology.

SWOSU congratulates Dr. Wiggen on this achievement! His involvement with initiatives like the Reach Higher program reflects his commitment to advancing education and supporting student success in and beyond the classroom.
