Voices and Votes: Democracy in America Event Concludes with a Day of Celebration

Cheyenne, OK – Saturday is the final day of the Smithsonian's traveling exhibit Voices and Votes: Democracy in America will be hosted by the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Humanities, and the Cheyenne/Roger Mills Chamber of Commerce. The event will be packed with community activities, entertainment, and special events as the exhibit wraps up its time in Cheyenne.

The exhibit, which has sparked civic engagement and discussion around the history and importance of democracy, will conclude with a day-long celebration featuring a variety of events from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, located at 101 LL Males Street. Free refreshments and face painting, as well as other exciting activities, will be offered to all attendees. Face painting will be available from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Draggin' Main Schedule of Events The event-filled day will include a series of lively community gatherings along Main Street, beginning with an Auto Showcase registration at 10 AM, followed by Hot Wheels Drag Racing at 12:30 PM at Martin’s. Alumni from the area will gather at The Rook and Star from 2-4 PM, while a Cornhole Tournament and more Face Painting will take place at 3 PM.

One of the key educational components of the day will be a presentation titled Founders of Our Freedoms, happening at 4 PM at the Slief Library, featuring Shonda Little's insightful presentation: A Journalist’s View of the Political Conventions.

Evening Highlights As the evening approaches, the fun continues with the Alumni Parade at 5 PM, followed by the much-anticipated Chaz Bryan Stereo Contest at 6 PM. The night will end with rooftop giveaways, a Dance Contest at 8 PM, and finally, a $1,000 Giveaway at 9 PM for participants registered at The Rook all day.
