Clinton, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol celebrated the grand opening of its new Troop H headquarters in Clinton with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
The new 7,500-square-foot facility is located on Gary Boulevard along historic Route 66, on land donated by the City of Clinton.
Constructed at a cost of just under $3 million, the headquarters was funded through the Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority Fund.
The new building replaces Troop H’s former headquarters, which operated out of a house originally built in 1967. The house was converted into an Oklahoma Highway Patrol headquarters in 1981 and served as the troop’s headquarters for more than four decades.
In addition to administrative operations, the former building housed dispatch and driver license services. As the troop’s responsibilities expanded, the facility became inadequate to meet its growing needs.
The new headquarters features expanded office space, modern facilities and a state-of-the-art classroom designed for regional training. The additional space will also accommodate future growth and improve operations for Troop H personnel serving western Oklahoma communities.
The grand opening drew community members, local leaders and state officials, including State Rep. Nick Archer of Elk City and State Rep. Anthony Moore of Clinton, who attended the ribbon-cutting celebration.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol thanked Concerned Oklahomans for the Highway Patrol Society (COHPS) for hosting the open house and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce for organizing the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new headquarters represents a significant investment in law enforcement infrastructure and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s continued service to western Oklahoma.
