Hammon Man Injured in Beckham County Collision

Beckham County, OK — A Hammon man was injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle collision at County Road 1950 (Carter Road) and State Highway 6 in Beckham County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. on Oct. 4.

Troopers said a commercial motor vehicle driven by 47-year-old Jose C. Barron-Munoz of Deming, New Mexico, had stopped on County Road 1950 and was attempting to make a left turn onto State Highway 6.

While the commercial vehicle was turning, an eastbound vehicle driven by 59-year-old Ronald D. Rainey of Hammon struck the rear portion of the commercial vehicle’s trailer.

Rainey was injured in the collision. The OHP report did not provide additional information regarding the extent of his injuries.

Barron-Munoz was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and neither vehicle had passengers.

The collision was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
