Cloud Chief, OK – The Cloud Chief Fire Department has received a donation from Enel North America to help repair the department’s radio repeater system.

Enel North America operates the Little Elk Wind Project and Rocky Ridge Wind Project, both of which cover portions of the Cloud Chief Fire Department’s protection district.

The donation will be used to restore the department’s radio repeater to full operational capacity. The system allows firefighters to maintain reliable communications across the department’s rural service area.

Department officials said reliable radio communication is especially important in remote areas, where problems with the repeater could delay or complicate coordination during emergency responses.

“This donation directly supports our ability to protect lives and property,” Fire Chief Nocona Cook said. “Enel North America’s contribution ensures our crews can communicate clearly and safely when every second counts. We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to community safety.”

The Cloud Chief Fire Department is an all-volunteer department providing fire suppression, rescue and emergency response services to Cloud Chief and surrounding areas.

Enel North America develops, owns and operates renewable energy projects, including the Little Elk and Rocky Ridge wind facilities located within the department’s fire protection district.
