Elk City, OK – Elk City's 53rd Fall Festival ushered in the season with larger crowds than last year.
Just under 5,000 attendees turned out for the two-day extravaganza, including 2,900 on Saturday and 2,000 on Sunday.
The annual event, held the 3rd weekend in September at the Elk City Convention Center and sponsored by the Elk City Chamber of Commerce, is western Oklahoma's largest arts & crafts show.
This year's Fall Festival was Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.
The event featured gift items, seasonal decorations, and other home products displayed at more than 100 professional booths, and food vendors provided attendees several dining options.
The Fall Festival committee presented awards in selected booth categories and for high-school art.
For over half a century, festivalgoers have celebrated autumn's arrival and begun their Christmas shopping at the Elk City Convention Center.
For the first several years, the event was held at various outdoor locations in downtown Elk City and once in Ackley Park. The festival permanently moved to the Convention Center in 1982.
