Elk City, OK – An Elk City woman was injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Beckham County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:53 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Merritt Road and 7th, on the west side of Elk City.

OHP reported that 79-year-old Barbara S. White of Elk City was traveling south on Merritt Road when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a northbound commercial motor vehicle driven by 33-year-old Carlandis J. Hughes of Cordell.

Following the collision, White's vehicle spun approximately 90 degrees before coming to rest on its wheels on the centerline. The commercial vehicle continued north for approximately 72 feet before coming to a controlled stop.

White was injured in the crash. Hughes was not injured.

OHP reported that both drivers were wearing seat belts. Neither vehicle had passengers.
