Sayre, OK – A Sayre man was arrested after police allege he returned to Sayre Public Schools property after being told to leave and was later seen climbing through a concession stand window.

Rickey Kameron Miller was arrested Sept. 10 on complaints of second-degree burglary and trespassing, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Beckham County District Court.

According to the affidavit, police were contacted at approximately 5:54 p.m. regarding an unauthorized man who had reportedly been on school property earlier that day.

School officials told police the man’s presence had caused the school to initiate a soft lockdown. Police were later notified by school officials that the man had returned to the property.

An officer located Miller near the entrance to the elementary school at approximately 6:05 p.m. Miller allegedly acknowledged that he had been on school property earlier in the day.

According to the affidavit, Miller was informed that school administrators were prohibiting him from entering or remaining on Sayre Public Schools property. The boundaries of the property were explained to Miller, and he reportedly indicated that he understood before walking away.

Approximately seven minutes later, police were contacted again after a school staff member allegedly saw Miller climb through a window of the school’s concession stand.

An officer responded and reported seeing Miller exit the concession stand carrying a two-liter bottle of Sprite. Miller was then arrested on a trespassing complaint.

While Miller was being taken into custody, a school employee reported that additional merchandise, including chips and candy, had been taken from the concession stand and was outside the building.

According to the affidavit, Miller then indicated he had additional concession stand items in his possession. Police searched a backpack Miller had with him and reported finding six sports drinks, several bags of chips and assorted candy.

School officials identified the items as merchandise sold by the concession stand, and the property was returned to school personnel.

Miller was subsequently informed that he was also under arrest on a complaint of second-degree burglary. He was transported to the Beckham County Detention Center.

Court records state that probable cause was found for the arrest and Miller’s bond was set at $5,000.

The allegations contained in the probable cause affidavit are accusations. Miller is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
