Weatherford, OK – After more than 47 years as a family-owned Western Oklahoma business, ASAP Energy Inc. is set to change ownership.

Rick and Sheila Koch announced Sept. 16 that they have entered into an agreement to sell ASAP Energy Inc. to Casey’s, a convenience store company with nearly 3,000 locations across 19 states.

In announcing the agreement, the Kochs said the future of ASAP Energy’s employees, customers and the communities it serves played an important role in their decision.

They said joining Casey’s will provide ASAP employees with additional resources, professional growth opportunities and long-term career possibilities, while allowing the company to continue serving customers throughout Western Oklahoma.

Casey’s was founded in Iowa in 1968 and has grown into a major convenience store operator. According to the company, approximately two-thirds of its stores are located in communities with populations of 20,000 or fewer.

That experience serving smaller communities was among the factors cited by the Kochs as they considered the future of ASAP Energy.

For more than four decades, ASAP Energy has operated as a family-owned business serving communities throughout Western Oklahoma. The Kochs said they believe the agreement with Casey’s will help provide continued quality service to customers while creating new opportunities for employees.

A closing date or timeline for completion of the sale was not included in the announcement.
