Roger Mills County, OK – A Woodward man was injured in a two vehicle collision Thursday morning, July 23, in Roger Mills County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:22 a.m. at the intersection of North 1790 Road and 1010 Road.
Troopers reported that a commercial motor vehicle driven by 38 year old Edgar A. Ortega Montes of Woodward was traveling north on North 1790 Road and stopped to make a right turn at the T intersection. A second vehicle, driven by 34 year old John Thomas Richard Ray of Woodward, was serving as the pilot car for the commercial vehicle when it struck the rear of the truck.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ray was following too closely and driving inattentively at the time of the collision.
Ray was injured in the crash. Ortega Montes was not injured. No passengers were involved in either vehicle.
The report noted that all occupants of the commercial vehicle were wearing seat belts. Ray was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
The collision was investigated by Troop H of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
