Beckham County Operation Nets Six Arrests While Searching for Wanted Fugitives

Sayre, OK – The Beckham County Sheriff's Office conducted a targeted enforcement operation on the night of July 18 in Sayre in an effort to locate wanted fugitives.

During the operation, deputies made contact with several individuals. One of those individuals was Jonathan Harris, 53, who was found to have an outstanding Greer County warrant for Failure to Appear on a DUI case. After Harris was arrested, deputies conducted a search incident to arrest and located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. In addition to the Greer County warrant, Harris was arrested on complaints of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

As deputies continued following leads on the whereabouts of the fugitives, they made contact with several people at a residence in Sayre. William Cothron, 66, was found to have an outstanding Beckham County warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cothron was arrested and transported to the Beckham County Jail, where he was booked on the warrant.

Deputies later made contact at another residence in Sayre belonging to Larry Lopez, 48. Lopez gave deputies consent to enter the residence. While inside, deputies made contact with Jeremy Hall, 35, Valerie Havens, 42, and Carri Henley, 35.

During the initial walk-through, deputies observed suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputies secured the residence and obtained a search warrant before conducting a more thorough search.

During the execution of the search warrant, deputies located additional suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence.

Larry Lopez was arrested on complaints of:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Maintaining a Dwelling Where Controlled Dangerous Substances Are Kept or Used

  • Valerie Havens was arrested on complaints of:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The ongoing search for the wanted pair has directly led to the arrest of six people, eight new felony charges, the recovery of 223 grams of suspected methamphetamine, two firearms, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

The Beckham County Sheriff's Office appreciates the assistance provided by the Sayre Police Department during this operation. Joint efforts like these help remove dangerous drugs from our communities while locating wanted offenders and holding those involved in criminal activity accountable.
