Oklahoma City, OK – Western Oklahoma communities posted a mix of gains and losses in the latest monthly sales tax distribution released by the Oklahoma Tax Commission, with several regional retail hubs showing solid growth while others experienced declines compared to the same period last year.

The June 8, 2026, distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from April business. The monies they reported this period represent sales from April 16th to 30th and estimated sales from May 1st to the 15th.

Among the communities tracked, Elk City received $1,477,050.38, an increase of 6.5% over the $1,386,900.29 distributed during the same period in 2025.

Weatherford also reported a healthy gain, receiving $1,174,072.85, up 7.0% from $1,097,184.94 a year ago. Altus posted one of the strongest increases among larger cities, climbing nearly 13% to $1,272,116.90, compared to $1,125,879.18 last year.
