Erick Motorcyclist Injured After Striking Cattle Feed Tub

Erick, OK – A 34-year-old Erick man was injured Thursday night after his motorcycle struck a cattle feed tub in the roadway east of Erick, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:19 p.m. on July 2 along Highway 66 near County Road 1760 in Beckham County.

According to the preliminary investigation, Edward O. Thompkins of Erick was traveling east on Highway 66 when his motorcycle struck a cattle feed tub in the roadway. The motorcycle overturned following the impact.

Troopers said the collision occurred about 1.5 miles east of Erick. Thompkins was injured in the crash. The extent of his injuries was not immediately released.

No passengers were on the motorcycle, and no other vehicles were involved.

The crash remains under investigation.
