Sayre, OK – A 17-year-old Sayre driver was injured Thursday morning in a two vehicle collision at the Interstate 40 eastbound on ramp south of Sayre, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 283 and the I-40 eastbound on ramp in Beckham County.
Troopers said a commercial motor vehicle driven by 48-year-old Quartez T. Moore of Selma, North Carolina, was attempting to turn left from southbound U.S. 283 onto the I-40 eastbound on ramp. As Moore made the turn, the vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Sayre resident.
The juvenile driver was injured in the crash. The extent of the injuries was not released. Moore was not injured.
According to the report, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. No passengers were involved.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the crash. The next of kin for the injured driver was notified.
