Fatal Two Vehicle Crash North of Arapaho Claims Two Lives

Custer County, OK – A two vehicle collision north of Arapaho on Thursday afternoon claimed the lives of two Custer City residents, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and East 960 Road, about three miles north of Arapaho.

According to the OHP, 75 year old Rodney Ray Neufeld of Custer City died from injuries sustained in the crash. His passenger, 73 year old Kathy Neufeld of Custer City, was also killed.

The driver of the second vehicle, 37 year old Cody W. Stevens of Kingston, Oklahoma, was injured in the collision. No information on the extent of his injuries was released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that all occupants were wearing seat belts. No additional passengers were involved.

Troopers said the cause of the collision remains under investigation. Next of kin have been notified.
