UPDATE: Great Plains Regional Medical Center Cleared Following Federal Price Transparency Review

The Penny News 1427

Elk City, OK — Great Plains Regional Medical Center has been found in full compliance with federal Hospital Price Transparency requirements following a review by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Earlier this year, CMS identified a formatting issue during a routine review of the hospital's price transparency files and issued a Notice of Violation along with a request for a Corrective Action Plan (CAP). After working with CMS compliance officials to address the issue, the agency formally closed its review on June 5, 2026.

In a closure letter to Great Plains Regional Medical Center CEO Corey Lively, CMS stated that the deficiencies identified during its review had been corrected and notified the hospital that the compliance review had ended.

"Earlier this year, CMS conducted a routine review of our pricing transparency policies," said Corey Lively, CEO of Great Plains Regional Medical Center. "Working alongside compliance enforcement officials, our hospital quickly addressed a formatting issue that was identified during the review. Earlier this month, CMS closed its review, noting GPRMC is in compliance with all requirements."

The review follows a broader federal effort to ensure hospitals nationwide comply with Hospital Price Transparency regulations, which require hospitals to publicly post pricing information in standardized formats.

Lively emphasized that Great Plains Regional Medical Center has made pricing transparency a priority for years.

"Clear communication and pricing transparency have always been priorities for our organization," Lively said. "Pricing information is available on our website and has been since January 2021. Our pricing document has been approved by CMS and we offer good faith estimates if requested before any procedure. We also host a cost estimator tool on our website to help patients understand potential out-of-pocket costs. GPRMC remains committed to delivering the best medical care while providing patients with clear information about the costs of that care."

Although the review has been closed, CMS noted that it may continue to monitor the hospital's compliance with federal price transparency regulations in the future.

Great Plains Regional Medical Center provides pricing information, a patient cost estimator, and other financial resources through its website to help patients better understand the cost of care before receiving services.
