Elk City, OK – The Elk City Police Department says two arrests have been made in connection with the recent shooting investigation near Panel Road, and additional arrests are expected as the case continues to develop.

According to information released by the department, one adult and one juvenile have been taken into custody. Investigators stated that the individuals believed to be the most violent suspects involved in the incident have now been arrested. However, police emphasized that the investigation remains active and that more arrests are anticipated.

The shooting occurred during the early morning hours between May 29 and May 30 near Panel Road in Elk City. Earlier this month, the Elk City Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating individuals connected to the incident and requested any photos, videos, surveillance footage, or eyewitness information that could aid investigators.

In its latest update, the department thanked community members for their patience and support throughout the investigation.

"At this time it is an ongoing investigation and the most violent suspects involved in this incident have been arrested," the department stated in a public release.

Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward. Investigators believe additional evidence from the public could help identify other individuals involved and assist with upcoming arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Captain Sammy Weygand with the Elk City Police Department at 580-225-1212 or by email at weygand@elkcity.com.

Police have not released the names of those arrested due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the involvement of a juvenile. Additional information is expected to be released as the case progresses.
