Two-Vehicle Crash Reported in Washita County

Colony, OK – A two-vehicle collision was reported early Monday morning, May 4, in Washita County near Colony.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:22 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 2440 and County Road 1150, two miles east of Colony, when a northbound vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The second vehicle, traveling eastbound, struck the first vehicle in the intersection, impacting the side with its front bumper.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, 18-year-old Kanon K. Clift of Chickasha, was injured in the collision. One passenger was also in the vehicle but was not reported injured. Seatbelts were not in use by all occupants in that vehicle.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, 59-year-old Mitchell D. Lloyd of Colony, was not injured. No passengers were in that vehicle, and seatbelts were in use.

Next of kin have been notified.

The collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
