Sayre, OK – A Sayre woman was injured Thursday night after being struck from behind by a vehicle along U.S. Highway 283, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m. on April 16, just south of Greer Street in Sayre.

According to investigators, a southbound vehicle driven by Timothy M. Paschall, 50, of Shamrock, Texas, was traveling in the westernmost lane of U.S. 283 when it struck a motorized scooter from the rear. The scooter was being operated by 19-year-old Gracie E. Miller of Sayre.

Both Paschall and Miller were reported injured in the crash. Paschall had two passengers in the vehicle, but no passengers were reported injured. All occupants in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.

Miller, who was operating the scooter, was not using a seatbelt, as the report notes she was considered a pedestrian.

The extent of injuries has not been released. Next of kin have been notified.
