Motorcyclist Injured in I-40 Crash in Canadian County

Canadian County, OK — A Clinton man was injured Thursday night in a motorcycle crash on an Interstate 40 on-ramp in Canadian County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:34 p.m. at the I-40 and U.S. 281 spur.

Troopers reported that Brian O Ater, 48, was traveling westbound on I-40 on the on-ramp when his motorcycle encountered loose dirt in the roadway. The motorcycle began to slide, causing Ater to lose control. The bike fell and continued sliding, according to the report.

Ater was injured in the crash. The extent of his injuries was not immediately released.

No passengers were involved. Next of kin has been notified.

The incident remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
