Weatherford, OK — Jacob Sappington of Willow has been named the Dr. Randy L. Beutler History Scholar at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This scholarship, established by SWOSU’s 17th President, Dr. Randy Beutler and generously endowed by Beutler's friends, family, and colleagues upon his retirement in 2021, is awarded to a SWOSU student majoring in History or History Education.

Sappington is a junior studying History Education.

The Dr. Randy L. Beutler History Scholarship is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc.
