Jacob Sappington is 2025-2026 Beutler History Scholar at SWOSU

Weatherford, OK — Jacob Sappington of Willow has been named the Dr. Randy L. Beutler History Scholar at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This scholarship, established by SWOSU’s 17th President, Dr. Randy Beutler and generously endowed by Beutler's friends, family, and colleagues upon his retirement in 2021, is awarded to a SWOSU student majoring in History or History Education.

Sappington is a junior studying History Education.

The Dr. Randy L. Beutler History Scholarship is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships, and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. For more information about the Dr. Randy L.
