Charles Vang Named Dr. Sara Nell (Bergstrom) Marquis Memorial Scholar at SWOSU

Weatherford, OK – Charles Vang of Owasso, Oklahoma has been named the Dr. Sara Nell (Bergstrom) Marquis Memorial Scholar for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU).

Vang hods a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He is currently pursing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at SWOSU.

Dr. Sara Nell (Bergstrom) Marquis, ’76 & ’03, served on the faculty of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy from 1987 until her death in 2008. She was a native of the Portales and Clovis areas in New Mexico. She held an undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist University.

Dr. Marquis and her husband, Charles “Chuck” Marquis, ’72, of Weatherford, raised two daughters: Carissa (Marquis) King, ’08, also of Weatherford, and Alicia Marquis, ’14, of Fort Collins, Colorado.
